It’s back! The deadline for transmitting any MDS modification assessments for Quality Reporting Program (QRP) calculations is May 15, 2019. For the data collection timeframe of Oct 1, 2018 – Dec 31, 2018, nursing facilities will have until 11:59 PM on May 15th to transmit MDS modifications to ensure compliance with QRP requirements.
The best way to evaluate QRP compliance is to utilize the CASPER NF Review and Correct Report. CMS has recently enhanced the features of this report, and they are now available in SimpleLTC.
To run this report, navigate to the CMS Reports option under the MDS tab. On the top right of the screen, click Choose a Report Title and select NF Review and Correct Report (under the SNF Quality Reporting Program section).
We highly recommend requesting this report and making any necessary modifications before the deadline to avoid a potential 2% payment reduction.

Changes to SNF QRP Review and Correct Reports
On April 5, CMS rolled out new SNF QRP Review and Correct Reports within CASPER. The updated reports enhance sorting functionality, include patient-level data, and automate CSV file creation with patient-level results.
In addition to the sorting enhancements and inclusion of resident-level data, these reports:
- Contain quality measure info at the facility level
- Allow providers to obtain aggregate performance for the past four quarters (when data is available)
- Include data submitted prior to the applicable quarterly data submission deadlines
- Display whether the data correction period for a given CY quarter is “open” or “closed”
