  • Have you/your LTC facility signed up to participate yet?  The AHRQ ECHO National Nursing Home COVID-19 Action Network – a partnership between AHRQ, the University of New Mexico’s ECHO Institute and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) – provides free training and mentorship to nursing homes across the country to increase the implementation of evidence-based infection prevention and safety practices to protect residents and staff.  The program, available to over 15,000 nursing homes that are certified to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, is designed to enhance evidence-based safety practices to protect residents and staff.  The goals of this program are:
  • CDC has just updated the Nursing Home COVID-19 Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) Tool.  The updated tool carries a date of December 10, 2020 and now has 14 sections and is 59 pages in length.  Briggs currently has a complimentary copy of the July 2020 version of the ICAR available on our COVID-19 Resources webpage.  We will update that tool with the December 10th version in January.   
  • CDC’s Post Vaccine Considerations for Residents website was updated on December 13, 2020. There is a lot of great information on this website, including Suggested Approaches to Evaluating and Managing Systemic New Onset Post-Vaccination Signs and Symptoms for Residents in Long-Term Care Facilities.  Also updated that same day –
