MDS 3.0 Readiness Statement SimpleMDS™ / SimpleCFS™

 

 

SimpleLTC, Inc. has transmitted more than 3 million MDS assessments, making us the largest MDS submitter that works with any clinical or MDS analyzer software.

 

SimpleLTC will be ready for the MDS 3.0 implementation date of October 1, 2010, and we are working hard to live up to our name by keeping it simple. When our MDS 3.0 upgrade is complete, you will have access to your previous information, reports, and the SimpleLTC product features you rely on.

How to prepare for our MDS 3.0 Upgrade

For the majority of our customers there is nothing to do in preparation for the SimpleLTC MDS 3.0 upgrade.

 

If you have users within your company sharing user accounts, contact our support team as soon as possible to set them up with their own account. As part of the MDS 3.0 upgrade we are introducing an improved “forgot my password” function, and it will require each user to have an account.

 

If you currently use our MDS AutoUploader, your IT department or systems administrator will need to install the MDS 3.0 version, see SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader information below.

SimpleMDS™ 3.0 Upgrade

Our MDS transmission and CASPER reporting product, SimpleMDS™, will begin accepting individual MDS 3.0 and MDS 3.0 zipped (batch) file formats on October 1, 2010. We will also continue to process MDS 2.0 file formats as long as our customers need this service. Recognizing the potential for confusion during the MDS 2.0 to 3.0 conversion, we are working hard to make the transmission of MDS assessments as simple as possible. When you transmit MDS files using SimpleMDS™, we will automatically detect the file type and appropriately process and transmit your 2.0 batch, 3.0 XML, and 3.0 XML zipped formats. If you submit individual 3.0 XML files through SimpleMDS™, we will zip them before we transmit the files to CMS, per MDS 3.0 transmission guidelines.  Current and future CASPER reports produced by CMS will continue to be available for review and download.

 

New SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader

The SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader is a FREE one-click MDS submission application that works with virtually any clinical and MDS analyzer product. SimpleMDS customers are NOT required to use the AutoUploader to transmit MDS files, but it’s available at no cost to all SimpleMDS customers. The AutoUploader listens to a folder on your server, and when it detects that a new MDS file has been placed in that folder it automatically transmits the file to SimpleMDS for processing and transmission. Our new SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader processes MDS 2.0, individual MDS 3.0, and MDS 3.0 zipped (batch) file formats.


NOTE: If your clinical system does not automatically zip your MDS 3.0 assessment files into a batch, the SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader is probably your best solution.

 

The SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader is designed to work with our current version of SimpleMDS so that our customers can install it as soon as it becomes available and before we complete our MDS 3.0 upgrade. The AutoUploader is available to all SimpleMDS customers at no extra charge, but it must be installed on your server by your System Administrator or IT department. If you use the current version of our MDS AutoUploader, you will need to complete your upgrade by 6:00 PM CST, September 17, 2010. New installs can be completed at your convenience. AutoUploader software installation files and instructions will be available by August 31, 2010. SimpleCFS™ 3.0 Upgrade

For our Texas customers using SimpleCFS™ and as part of our MDS 3.0 upgrade, we are incorporating MDS 3.0 changes affecting LTCMI and PASARR submission, views and reports.

 

We are also implementing a single logon that allows users to seamlessly click between SimpleCFS™ and SimpleMDS™ without logging in twice. User names and passwords will remain the same, and we are making it easier for you to securely update and recover forgotten and expired passwords. The single logon will be implemented on September 20, 2010.

Our schedule:

  • August 31, 2010 – SimpleMDS™: AutoUploader available for install
  • September 20, 2010 – SimpleLTC MDS 3.0 upgrade complete
  • October 1, 2010 – First day MDS 3.0 files are to be transmitted
